School Begins
Small Fine Motor Activity Center
8:00 ~ 8:15 a.m.
This center is filled with playful activities that develop small muscles in the hands. When these muscles are strengthened, holding pencils and crayons is much easier when they begin to write.
Some of the activities in this center include play dough, puzzles, stringing beads, peg boards, geoboards, and potato heads. Children are allowed to independently choose activities.

Circle Time
8:15 ~ 8:30 a.m.
Circle time is more of a structured time, where stories, puppets, finger plays, action songs, and flannel board stories are told that often reflect the theme we’re studying. Children learn about ABC’s, months, days of the week, colors, rhythm, and the weather.
This is where children begin to learn to express oneself in a group. They share, listen, and learn to take turns within a group--all important foundations before beginning elementary school.
